Week 16 Discussion 2

I enjoy this class so much. I like the routine and the workload we have. Since this is an online class, everything is on our own and we need to take care with our own business. Online forum motivates and “forces” me to read the book, because I cannot participate in the forum without reading the assigned chapters. That helps me to keep track of the readings. I also like this class because our professor is so approachable. I can send her an email whenever I need help and she will get back to me once she is available. I cannot really think of a negative part of this class, except I think we should not have forums for the weeks that we have quizzes or paper due. That can ensure we have sufficient time to work on the other assignment. Other than that, there is nothing else I can think of because this is an awesome class!

Thank you my online classmates and Professor Perez!

  1. Hello Adrian,

I also enjoyed this class. The workload was fun and actually, should i say, the perfect amount. It was a good amount of work every week, but at the same time nothing that a person with good time and organization skills couldn't handle. You are right, you need to read the book in order to post on the blogs. I also liked this factor in the class. I do like you idea on having to post on the weeks that we have a paper due or we have a midterm. I like that idea. It would make it a bit easier on us in the class if we had the time to work on one thing at a time.

    Nice post,

  2. I agree with you because I also like the routine and workload for this class. I like how there is a set routine like on Monday you check the schedule to see what is due that week and then you have to make sure to submit everything by Sunday. Also usually in classes, I don’t pay much attention to reading the text and just go off from the Professors lecture, however like you mentioned, the online discussion forces you to read the book in order to participate. I also like how you say that you don’t think we should have discussion on the weeks that we have quizzes and papers because it does take our focus of from studying.

  3. You make a good point! If it was not for the discussions, then I would most likely not have read a single chapter in the book. I like how you mentioned about how our teacher is easy to approach too. Having approachable teachers, make the class environment so much more comfortable. Fast replies and easy communication is essential in a relationship between the teacher and student. Another point I agree with is the fact that we should not have discussion during the weeks of quizzes or projects. It truly does take away from our studies. In the end, this class was really fun and made me enjoy online classes.

  4. I enjoyed the class overall as well. I think the workload is the perfect amount too and like you said the weekly discussions help us keep up with the class. It’s like we need to read of course to be able to participate. And then for our exams, it’s more convenient studying for them because we keep reading every week. I didn’t really mind that we had exams or quizzes while we had to discussions on our blogs. But I can see why that wouldn’t be so ideal sometimes. Maybe we can have just one post and not three if there's an exam/quiz. I also agree with you that Prof. Perez made the class go smoothly, not necessarily easy but it was busy enough that I really learned from the class!

  5. I agree that the fact that this was an online class made it much better. I was able to work at my own pace for the most part and it was a good spacing of the workload. The discussions were very interesting to me in that everyone participates and we are able to share, agree, and disagree with everyone else's viewpoints. I also do agree that the discussions pretty much made sure we read because without reading, we can not participate in the discussions. This class really was a great class, and Prof. Perez is a great and helpful professor.
